Sambal is an Indonesian/Malaysian chili sauce, that comes in a variety of flavors. The basic chili sauce is made from a mixture of different chili peppers, with secondary ingredients such as shrimp paste, garlic, ginger, shallot, scallion, palm sugar, and lime juice. Sambal “Manis” is the mild, sweeter, less spicy version in the sambal family.
Serving suggestion: the ideal flavor maker for any dish, soup, or sauce. Sambal Manis goes exceptionally well with a dish of fried fish and rice.
