Sambal is an Indonesian/Malaysian chili sauce, that comes in a variety of flavors. The basic chili sauce is made from a mixture of different chili peppers, with secondary ingredients such as shrimp paste, garlic, ginger, shallot, scallion, palm sugar, and lime juice. Sambal “Brandal” is a dark, spicy, fried sambal.
