Sambal is an Indonesian/Malaysian chili sauce, that comes in a variety of flavors. The basic chili sauce is made from a mixture of different chili peppers, with secondary ingredients such as shrimp paste, garlic, ginger, shallot, scallion, palm sugar, and lime juice. Sambal “Badjak” is a dark, spicy sambal without added salt, and with some candlenut.
Serving suggestion: the ideal spicy flavor maker for any dish, soup, or sauce. Try to add two teaspoons of Sambal Badjak to our 500ml Satay Sauce to get that extra spicy bite.
